Toyota Phaeton Tamiya

Hello Everyone,

Here is a recent released from Tamiya. The kit reproduces the car built by Toyota just a few years before WW2 started. Phaeton type cars were rather common at this period, the concept coming for the USA.

The model is excellent, molding is perfect, and easy to build. It gave me the opportunity to concentrate on the painting of the car.
I decided to make a car used by the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA). Information and photos are rare , but it seems that chrome parts of the vehicle were painted Khaki. There should also be a code with a white star but lacking the right info I decided that the vehicle won't have any. Maybe later when unknown sources will appear?

I used Tamiya acrylics, and finished the model with diluted black Humbrol. No pastels!!! As you can see the car is clean! Discipline was strict and the Colonel the car belonged to demanding regarding the cleanliness of his car...
